Your Impact as a Shift Leader:
As a Shift Leader, you’ll oversee daily operations, guide your team, and ensure every aspect of the customer experience shines. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading Our Team & Operations:
- Inspiring Your Crew: Leading by example, maintaining an upbeat and positive atmosphere, and ensuring all team members provide both excellent service and top-quality products.
- Training & Development: Assisting in the training of new employees and continuously guiding the team to uphold our company’s goals and mission.
- Operational Excellence: Managing time effectively, planning prep flow throughout the day, and ensuring all closing tasks are completed thoroughly.
- Product Mastery: Being intimately familiar with all recipes and setting a high standard for proper product preparation.
- Problem Solver: Knowing how to handle emergencies and capable of making quick grocery runs for essential items if needed.
- Inventory Oversight: Overseeing kegging procedures, ensuring orders are completed efficiently, and maintaining awareness of inventory levels.
Delivering the Wow Wow Customer Experience:
- Guest Happiness: Ensuring every customer leaves happy by providing warm, friendly, and gracious service, engaging them in conversation, and making them feel valued.
- Menu Expertise: Expertly explaining all menu items, their nutritional benefits, and the advantages of our superfoods, helping customers make choices they’ll love.
- Hawaiian Connection: Offering a uniquely Hawaiian experience, being knowledgeable about Maui, and sharing insights about our local farms and vendors.
- Issue Resolution: Politely dealing with unhappy customers, offering discounts or refunds when appropriate, ensuring products are remade if needed, and knowing when to escalate issues to management.
- Always Smiling: Consistently greeting every customer with a cheerful and outgoing demeanor.
Maintaining Our Pristine Stand:
- Appearance & Cleanliness: Ensuring the stand continually looks excellent by overseeing and participating in cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning refrigerators, freezers, and countertops, and organizing inventory.
- Equipment Care: Knowing how to properly wash and sanitize dishes and troubleshoot common equipment issues like blenders and their parts.
Mastering Cash & Inventory Management:
- POS & Cash Handling: Expertly operating the POS register, ensuring accurate till counts at opening and closing, precisely dividing tips, and accurately ringing up all orders and merchandise.
- Troubleshooting & Reporting: Knowing how to operate and troubleshoot iPads, Square, printers, and internet connections, as well as handling daily cash deposits and completing all required closing communication sheets and reports for management.
- Product Quality & Stock: Ensuring fruit rotation, preventing spoilage and waste, maintaining accurate and high-quality products, monitoring kombucha levels, and proactively communicating inventory needs to the business manager.
- Inventory Control: Completing stand inventory sheets accurately and on time.
Collaborative Leadership & Business Acumen:
- Communication: Maintaining constant, open communication with the Business Manager and Stand Manager regarding employees, customer feedback, stand needs, and any information affecting the business.
- Team Alignment: Working seamlessly with the Stand Manager to ensure a consistent and positive message is delivered to the team.
- Profitability Focus: Ensuring efficient use of time by the team, proper ringing and payment for all employee food, accurate order preparation to minimize waste, and safeguarding against theft or improper food consumption/discounts.
- Administrative Tasks: Overseeing accurate employee clock-ins/outs, managing invoices, and organizing past cash-out sheets.
